Actually Joao was right and this car is the Fageol Supersonic from 1939, NOT the Fageol Special, which was from 1953 and was Otto's puzzle #1278.

The Fageol Supersonic has also been puzzled before and was Otto's puzzle #304 in 2007, although the appearance was slightly different in that one so I suppose this could remain as a standalone puzzle..

In fact it is neither the Fageol Special nor the Fageol Supersonic, but the Hudson prototype built by Lou Fageol in 1950 as a Hudson show car. It was basically the Supersonic body modified to fit on a Hudson chassis, while the Supersonic chassis was used for the PataRay Special. Furthermore this is the second iteration of the Fageol Hudson, already fitted with Oldsmobile rear wings like the at the PataRay.
