Identify what this is, from when and what it led to, for 1 point:

Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Search by Image as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

Australian Sloper. They were a 2 dr fastback produced in the late '30s.
The body was used on most of the GM lines [Chev, Pont, Buick & Olds etc etc].
Not sure about this one tho. Could be a Chev or Pontiac but I can't see clearly from here.
Aust Ford & Chry produced their own version as well.

You're on the right track and it could be said you've answered the last part of the question.
But you'll have to dig a bit deeper to answer the first parts.
I'll lock it for you for 24 hours to see what you can come up with.

It is hard to ID from the back [the rear of Sloper bodies were all similar]. The early ones had the 1 piece rear screen and the late ones had the 2 piece.
Most of the GM family used that body here so to ID it is not easy.
I am not an expert on these but if I must try and ID the pic I would say its a Chev or Pontiac. Probably around 1940. A clearer pic would be nice.

Actually you were right and my picture IS a Sloper.
I understood it to be the Chevrolet 195-Y-15 prototype, the original 1937 Chevy project which was abondoned by them and turned over to Holden to make in Oz, but actually that was a 4-door car and the picture isn't it!

So it's now Solved and you have your very first point!
