O.K., It seems to be the Richter-Brohm 1600 prototype with the GP-HT 32 licence plate.

I´ll show the second Hofmeister-prototype in some minutes.
The licence plate is the same! :)

Sure, but I don´t have a name, still  :(

I´m quite sure it has been constructed by Fiedler and Bönsch, but did it have a name?

Here´s the second Hofmeister car, just to show it:
It's seems the one you've posted first has a split grill as well while the puzzle car has not!

Anyway, it's the "Richter-Brohm" car as the plate is the same.
However the caption doesn't mention these names, but as written in reply #21.

The book says yes - at least a designation/project name! It's easy to combine with the info you already have. Add a well known term of the BMW history and you're there.

Another source calls it "1,6 Liter Wagen mit Trapezlinie", "Mittelklasseprojekt" or just "Mittelwagen"
which describes its postion between the tiny Isetta/600 (Kleinwagen) and the big V8/503/507 cars (Großwagen).

I´ll keep on searching...

There you go! Locked for Grob!

So this will be my last guess:

it´s the Richter-Brohm "Mittelwagen" prototype.

Don't hesitate! Look at reply #21. Each hyphen = 1 letter.

It can't be 1300 if you take a closer look and 1600 is a bit too much. >:D

Mittelwagen was correct and is correct!  :D

grobmotorix

Oh no...

I´ve got to leave home now, so my ultimate guess will be BMW "700/1500" "Mittelwagen"

grobmotorix

Allemano

You know what? Skip the year, the point is yours! I have to leave soon as well.

in hinsight an astonishing achievement having digested italian classicism from michelotti and vignale into something as freh as this. truly innovation of clean crisp form.

The puzzle car is, according to former chief developer Karlheinz Lange, the last version of the Mittelwagen BMW 530, which was supposed to be powered by a 1600 cc engine.
