On the fast lane!

One point for the right name, the powerplaint and the year it was built.

I'm afraid that's a different car

If it's not the Jappic, is it the Gush Special?  Also JAP powered from 1930

Aha! Another with that book. I recently noticed a person-related puzzle of you.

Well done.

Some info: The car was powered by a 500cc Sunbeam motorcycle engine and was shown at Vienna's spring fair in 1929.

Given the Castrol signwriting, was it a record car as opposed to a racing car?

My source reveals nothing about racing or record breaking.

The vehicle was built of two halves, a front and a rear, which were rotatably connected with each other on a horizontal axis in the center below the seat. It worked like a torsion bar suspension.

The engine produced 22 HP. Considering the car weight of only 200 kg it must have been fairly quick.
