Please excuse the awful photo quality, but this was taken from a magazine with very poor-quality images.
Anyway, for a point, can you name this car? (there are two views to make it easier!).
Do the Experts have the foggiest idea?
Do the Pros have a clear view of this car?
Is it a shortened Audi 80?
Anything to do with Dutton?
No connections that I know of with either Audi or Dutton.
British?
As an Englishman I am embarrassed to say yes, sadly it is British! :-\
Ford-based?
Yes ;)
Could it be Astron?
It could be an Astron, but it's not :P
vaguely it resembles the Razzo from ZA, but as you said it's British...
I see your point with the Razzo, but this one is British, so not that I'm afraid!
Could this be a very obscure Sintera from 1995?
Sorry but not a Sintera.
Next stop BH!
And in to BH it goes...
Any relation to the Quantum 2+2?
I also thought about an early-80s Cavallo Estivo but that wasn't Ford based.
Could it be a Viking, a 2+2 built in 1986-87 by Viking Cars, Thundersley?
Yes it is the Viking. Well done PJ, another point to you.
I'm not sure if a certain new book may have helped here, as this had originally been left out, and I filled in this gap just before publication. ;)
Does somebody (maybe Quiller) have a better photo of this car.
A certain new book ;) only shows this car in an unfunished state.
Thanks for putting this car back on the map (and in this book), it was completely unknown to me.
I took this photo on my Blackberry (which I now know has a poor-quality lens, unlike my earlier model) from an advert for the Viking in an old kit car magazine.
I will try and find the magazine again (may take a while) and get a better photo of the car. I've never seen any other images of this sorry-looking car though.
