Title: SOLVED: Djetset #580 - Travec Tecdrah
Post by: Djetset on January 24, 2012, 01:38:25 PM
I'm surprised that we've not already had this one, so hope it is not a re-post as it doesn't show-up on a search.

So, what is this called for a point?

Good work Staulan. Surprised that this one lasted so long as it is the current German-built ABS-bodied Tecdran.

Is it Apal Stalker derived? I thought it was Apal, in fact. :o

I believe this is an evolution of the Apal Stalker, which from memory had a GRP fibreglass body, whereas the Tecdrah is in ABS. Prior to this Tecdrah, another German company made this car too, but I can't recall or find their name at the moment, so will update again later.

My Tecdrah photo was taken at last year's IAA show in Frankfurt, where the car was exhibited (outside).  To me it's a nice-looking thing, and very well executed too, and uses Dacia running gear.

It looks like we found the other German company, it was Baijah, but it seems that rather than build the car they just imported them from Russia, swapped the engine and rebadged them (or that's what they intended)
