looks like a Mueller Coupé from 1958 based on VW - I guess Helmut Müller

It sure looks like something that Raymond Besasie Sr. might have built as one of his ""X-cars", but I can't find any photos of this particular car to confirm it. Maybe it's the X-1, pictures of that one are hard to come by. I would say it's an American home-built custom, but I'm sure that even if that's true you'll need a lot more information - so I'll keep looking.

The hubcaps and the general stance suggest to me that the chassis is probably 1957 Dodge Coronet. But who took Exner's ideas and put his own exaggerated spin    onto them, I really don't know.
