I had some pictures of early coachbuilt cars of which I only knew the coachbuilder, but not the car. Somehow I felt they wouldn't make the most popular puzzles  ;). My idea was to add some more and put them together in a group puzzle, hoping ten boring puzzle cars would make a terrifying high-interest group puzzle  :-\. To make it unbeatable fun I decided to combine them with a topic not too familiar to the usual AutoPuzzler. Great, that would provide entertainment at a real underground level. And here we are...

In the following you will find ten pictures of cars and ten pictures of underground stations. You just have to connect them by choosing an underground station located at or near the town the car was coachbuilt. For each of the ten points available I need the coachbuilder and the city belonging to the correct combination of pictures. Points will be awarded at the end of the puzzle. Have fun!

Yes, well done

Craig Gillingham

Thanks, it was a bit of guesswork.

I've found that Underground D is in Frankfurt, but I'm not sure of the coachbuilder. Is one of the cars bodied by Kruck?

Wendax

#9
Yes, D is the very unusual entrance to the Bockenheimer Warte underground station in Frankfurt, and one of those cars is coachbuilt by Kruck. Underground D is locked for you.

Wendax

No, have a look for something more teutonic.  ;)
Locked for one more try.

Craig Gillingham

Cars 1 & 7 look very teutonic to me, how about car 7?

Wendax

You have a good eye  ;)
But it is not #7, so it is ....

Got to be #1 then!

#15
Yes!

Underground B is in Vienna, that links to car #2, which has a body built by Kastenhofer, on what I think is an Amilcar.

Well done! The station is Kettenbrückengasse in Wien-Margareten, the part of town where Kastenhofer had his workshop.

Underground A is Canary Wharf entrance in London. Could that link to car #5, what looks like a Daimler?

Wendax

It could, but I need the coachbuilder.

Were they located near Canary Wharf station?

Wendax

No, this time I picked the Canary Wharf station for its architecture. The underground station closest to the coachbuilder in question would have been this one:

Did they build many bodies? I've figured out that the above station is The Oval in Kennington, London.
