Post by: woodinsight on November 24, 2012, 07:46:18 AM
Make, model and year of this truck (quite easy) but I also need the name of the owner/operator and what world record the company holds. One point on offer.

It's a Guy Invincible II. Company - Shore Porters, oldest hauliers?

Built between 1958 and 1964, so ... 1960?

Found the photo - 1966. The Invincible was actually built alongside the Big J until 1967, not ending when that was launched in 1964.

Just a brief word about the Shore Porters Society (it was based in my home town of Aberdeen, Scotland and I used them when I moved to England in the 1960s)

The Shore Porters Society was established in 1498, six years after Columbus discovered America, by a group of porters who worked in Aberdeen Harbour. It is believed to be the world's oldest removals, haulage and storage company.
They still use the navy blue and red livery on their vehicles.
