Identify this sports racer for a point.
Required - name, what chassis it used, which engine powered it and the year it was completed.
Up a gear.....
Into top gear
Early 1950s Australia?
Early to middle 1950s but not Australia
Let's try UK just for the sake of it then.

Not Aston Martin - much more obscure
Was this taken at Snetterton c.1953?
Does it have any Buckler relation?

Yes, that's correct

No Buckler parts AFAIK.
Time for a clue - the base car is a very popular make. Two of these were made.
The marque name is two words.....
Okay, the name of this car is two words -
The first word is the first part of a title of a leading naval rank......
The second word is a model of a popular British car (which this car is based on)......

That'd be "Rear" or "Vice"

They look like Ford wheels so maybe "Prefect" or "Anglia"
Good public school name would be "Vice Prefect" I suppose, as I can't believe in "Rear Anglia". ;D

Good thinking Allan!
The first word is Vice (Rear Anglia is definitely not the solution :D)
The car is Ford-based but the second word is not Prefect or Anglia but you're on the correct path.
I'll LOCK it for you to guess which Ford model the second name should be.
Perhaps I've misjudged the size and it's a Vice Pilot.

Not Pilot - smaller than that.....
Still locked for you
Well that leaves Vice Anglia or if it was the commercial version Vice Thames at which point I'll give up so please unlock it!
Vice Popular? Surely not! ???
Not Vice Anglia or Vice Popular but Vice xxxxxx......
  Vice-Consul sounds almost plausible

Yes, that's it!
A point for you.
I'm giving Allan_L and D-Type a point each for identifying the name.
Treated as solved now as most of the information has now been solved.
The Vice-Consul was one of two identical sports racers built in the early 1950s by (I think) G.N. Hennessey on a Ford chassis using a Ford Consul engine and a MG gearbox.
By the way, the car in the background (No. 69) is Roy Clarkson's Morgan Saloon.
