Lister-Jaguar? About 1958?
Not Lister-Jaguar.
It's an obscure one that dates from the early 1960s.
I have a name but no more info at the moment.

OK!
I thought it looked for all the world like this (including the wheels):

Yes, I agree.
I think it must be a replica of some sort as it has a grp body.
I wish I could give you more clues but I don't know myself.
The picture came from an old Jaguar owners/enthusiasts magazine that only gave the name.
The name I have is 5 letters long in the form xxxxx-Jaguar.
Well there was the Alton-Jaguar of the late 1950s which I think looked a bit like that. It didn't have the rollover scaffolding then but did have the bolt-on wheels (not the knock-ons of the Lister as above).
Someone called Mike Barker had it, and may well have built it for all I can recall.

Yes, I remember Mike Barker's Alton-Jaguar that had a modified grp Mistral body.
It's not that one although I agree they look similar (except for the nose treatment)
Have a bet on this Jaguar-engined sports racer - that was a strong clue! ;)

Looks very Saddler to me which would make it Canadian about 1955-1960 But then again it is a bit reminiscent of the Bettie's of the 1960's which would make it New Zealand ! usually engined with Toyota/Nissan straight 6?

I'm afraid not - it's British...

I repeat my clue with the emphasis on one word -
'have a

that should lead you to the name ;)
