Title: Solved - MJW #845 - Watling (chassis) with a Falcon Mk II (body)
Post by: woodinsight on January 21, 2012, 10:14:50 AM
A mixed batch from me - I'm giving coachbuilt cars a bit of a rest for the moment!

Identify this dusty small sports by naming the base car and the body/model for a point.

Well it is one of the many specials/kits that were based on the E93A Ford and although I'm one of the few of my generation who managed to avoid having or building one, I think this may be a Nickri Spyder. ;D

Perhaps a variation on the Falcon Mk2?

I also never owned/built one of these plastic specials - my first car in those days was an Austin Seven.
It's not a Nickri though....

You're half way there Otto.
The body is a Falcon Mk2 but the base is a little known 1950s special.
I'll lock it for you in case you have the answer.

Thank you Otto.  Is it based on a Buckler chassis frame?

A Watling chassis? Apparently they offered one but it seems just as scarce as their shells...

Yes it's a Watling chassis with a Falcon Mk II bodyshell.
In this case I'll award two points - one to barrett for the chassis and one to Otto for the body.
