Title: Solved - MJW #922 - Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica 1951 - modified 1953
Post by: woodinsight on May 15, 2012, 02:34:44 PM
I'm going to post quite a few new puzzles in the next few days as I'll probably be indisposed until the end of the month.

For one point identify the make, model, original year of build and the year it was modified.

A Cooper?
Not a Cooper.
The puzzle car has been modified from the original and as a hint it was very expensive when new.

A random guess based on the exhaust - but Jaguar based?

Frazer-Nash, originally a Le Mans Replica or a High Speed, it could be either as they were virtually identical

Yes, that's what it is.
LOCKED for you to come up with the year it was originally completed and the approximate year it was modified.......

I have absolutely no idea.

I'll guess at originally built 1950 and modified 1954.

If I'm wong, please unlock and leave it open to all.

As it's my 10,000th post I'm feeling generous and I'll give you the point as your answer is close enough for me.
It was built in 1951 and modified in 1953.

Thanks Wendax.
It doesn't seem that long ago since I joined this site and I'm surprised myself that I've posted so much.
A lot of that has to do with my having quite a lot of free time on my hands over the last two years owing to health issues.

Thank you.  After I had established it was a Frazer-Nash the rest was guesswork.

Do you know the story of the car?  I can't see where it would fit in to the scheme of things.

I haven't researched the history of this particular car but I can tell you it was chassis no: 42/100/157 and registered OUG 3?
