'One-off'?
The builder made other cars, but this is probably one-of-a-kind.
Aston-Ford Special 1958?
Buckler?
The track looks a little too wide, and the seat a little too low, for this to be based on a Ford 10 chassis, so could it be based on MG mechanical bits?

It has an MG engine, but don't think the chassis has anything to do with MG.
So are we looking for a name like XXXX-MG Special?

Apart from the 'Special' bit, yes!
Bristow-MG 1956?
Well, apparently it's a Tojeiro-MG owned by Bob Vincent. Registration something like HAX500? Photo taken in 1955, it later had a 2-litre Bristol engine fitted.

Indeed it is, actually registered HAR 500 (Tojeiro seemed to like the 500's!). I'll check my records for the date that reg was issued.
I haven't been able to find much else out about this car, but it seems that at the time of the photo it was MG-engined.
It's probably a photo from the past of what is now a well-known car?

Bristow-MG 1956?
Bad luck woodinsight.
Original photo:
HAR 500 was issued end September/early October 1946, so that doesn't help to date this car, as it was obviously transferred to it from an earlier car.
