Identify this car and its base for 1 point:

Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Search by Image as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

Now this a lucky shot: I didn't know about this car untill a few weeks ago when I was looking for another puzzle. I found this picture, saved it on my computer and titled it as a Porsche Python, apparantly based on a Porsche 356 1600. I haven't been able to find out much more ; some sources say it isn't a Porsche, some say it's a kit car, one source even said that 45 where build in Canada, I don't know ... Maybe someone can shed a light on this one?

We probably have the same source, although I understood there was some doubt about whether it was actually Porsche-based despite the Porsche 356 badges.  It's possibly VW-based.  No idea how many of these were made though.

The logo says: Fergus Canada?

That seems to be a town in Ontario..

Maybe where these were built?
