It seems likely that this puzzle car was among the last cars made by Crosley until the ending of WW II, as their factories turned to war materiel production, just as the larger US manufacturers did.

Just a footnote: Crosley was sold in small numbers in GB after the war, named "Crosmobile" to not conflict with Crossley Motors of England.
