Younger than it looks? (The car, not the owner  :D )

This may be quite hard to find ..but.. if you look closer at this car (exp. the side and back) you can see that is similar to another car, not very known but featured in a well known website and on display on a museum...that man built more than one and this one may be a different one or the same in a previous life.

That front reminds me of a fire engine

Auburn?

Not an Auburn.
This car was self-built by that man and it is younger than it looks.
A popular site features a car like this, yellow and black, on display in a museum with all the required info. It may be the same with a reworked frontal or a different example (he made more than 1 car).

Built in the 1960s?

It's hard to tell...the donor car was not from the 60s and in the article (that is not from the 60s) it's reported that it took him 3 years to complete it...the car on display at the museum have got 19XX-19XX, covering from the year of the donor car onward.
Reading carefully the article and the description of the yellow&black car (and after a good look at the pics), I can tell you that these cars are not the same but pretty similar.

It's been 20 years since I saw that yellow car in the Boyertown Museum. But now I remember :)!

It's based on a Chevrolet Chassis and was built by Howard Adams in Fleetwood, PA.

The puzzle car was also built by Howard Adams on a 1950 Chevrolet chassis. It took him three year to build the car. The article describing the car is dated July, 1973.
