Cliff Hix's scratch-built hot rod.  Uses a V12 Allison engine from a P-38 fighter plane.

All correct.
What a nice beast!

Either it is a photogenic beast, or the pictures were taken by a great photographer.

Just to add a bit, the body is a stretched 1927-style Model T roadster...a fiberglass replica.  Nice hot rod.  I wonder what would happen if he ever really got on the gas with it.  I read that he once blipped the throttle and the car spun immediately (makes me wonder why he did that with the clutch out) but if he had some nice fat sticky tires on a VHT-prepped track...well, I guess wheelie bars would be in order.   ::)

Here's the color version of the photo.
