It looks so very much like a double post.

Is it powered by a Jaguar engine?

It will be clear when it will be solved.
I don't know about the engine.

Paul Jaray

BTW we already had one of his creations here.

Otto Puzzell

Built by one of the Alexander brothers?

Paul Jaray

You were closer (for a couple of reasons) with your previous guess.

Otto Puzzell

So he's a customizer (like the Alexander Brothers), versus a freelance designer who also built some customs (Gardner)?

Paul Jaray

Not a customizer, but in the (very) Hi-Performance area of cars...and no, not regular racers (F1, Indy, etc...)...
The 2nd reason is less relevant.

barrett

So we're talking a salt lake racer perhaps?

How about Denny Larsen?

And I feel I need to mention it as I don't think anyone else has, this car is GORGEOUS!

Otto Puzzell

Not too many salt racers from Michigan. A drag car guy, perhaps.

Is this Connie Kalitta, before he put on the pounds?

I must confess I did just a quick research about him and I don't remember any connection with salt lake races...

Now we are getting somewhere....not him, but you hit the right area!

It's got something to do with the Logghe shop, which already appeared on AP.

And eventually I found it.
This car was Ron Logghe's project for the Art Institute where he received his degree before joining the family business. He designed and built everything, chassis, suspension, body molds and fiberglass body. All in 1957.

...and we have a winner!
Now I can explain...I thought it was easy beause I found this car in the same page where I found another puzzle car...anyone who looked for that (solved) quiz could have seen the one I posted.
The 2nd reason I wrote Otto was close it was that Logghe joined Gene (the Logghe Brothers) inhis later activity.

Point for you!

Otto Puzzell

Nice car. Any idea what happened to it?

RayTheRat

Is this puzzle still unsolved and unlocked?

Otto Puzzell

It looks like PJ has declared it solved.
