Title: Solved: PN #359 -- Pozzi and Comino's Romi Isetta based racer, 1957
Post by: pnegyesi on September 04, 2012, 08:25:16 AM
I am not sure it had a name, so for a point I'd like to know: country, year and donor. Easy, isn't it?

I think there was a category proposed in France for 3-wheel 500cc racing cars in 1950s (I have marked them as Racer 500-3, following web info). So this may come from France or, say, Morocco.

way off the mark (not Europe or Africa, not to mention the engine)

I saw cars similar to this race in Morocco.  The only photo I have of something similar is of a Panhard-engined 4-wheeler (Formula 4, I guess...it was 1971...see attached photo.)

But since that's not it, how about Down Under: Australia (New Zealand will be my next guess if it's not from Oz.)

Morocco was mentioned previously. Not from Aus or nz

Hm...Argentina? They've had a thing called Formula Mini Junior, but I'm not sure this one would fit technically.

So, as I get it, we're talking about an American continent. Southern part of it?

Oh, wait, is it based on a Brazilian Romi Isetta?

A bit of a wild guess: 1959?

you have one more guess before I reluctantly open it up again. Still locked. (Difference is more than a year)

The car dates from 1957. Designed by Silvano Pozzi and Emilio Comino.
