The car that springs to mind is "Dorcas" made by the Glegg brothers.
That used a FWD BSA chassis with a 981cc JAP engine and in its final form it had four-wheel-drive.
The body looks rather different however as we are used to seeing this photo:

I was looking for information about the Dorcas when I found the solution to this puzzle on the same website. It is the Stanton BSA Special, based on a 1930 BSA three-wheeler which was converted to four wheels by the Stanton brothers in the 1940s. It is powered by a two-cylinder 1080 cc V twin.
