Christmas time in Rookieland. I've just exchanged the present as it was a repost. ;D
For one point, please respond and identify this car and its coachbuilder.
DKW?
Not quite
Adler?
No
EMW?
No
Not a Wanderer, is it?
No, you are drawing circles around the answer. ;)
Circles, eh? Auto Union?
Let's say "related to"
I'm going to have a final guess at Horch, although that grille is pretty tame for such a haughty company. :-\
Not Horch
IFA F8 with a cabriolet body by Holka?
It is an IFA F8, but the coachbuilder is not Holka. Locked until your next reply to find the right coachbuilder.
Unlocked, because dracu777 was promoted to Expert ranks and can't answer this puzzle right now.

Is the coachbuilder Glaser?
An interesting history, from Auto union, to DKW, to IFA, to Wartburg

Is the coachbuilder Glaser?
Not quite, I would say the coachbuilder in question is just about as far away from Gläser as IFA from DKW ;)
Was assuming it to be a German, east or west coach-builder.
But had a thought was it a Dutch coach-builder
Getting colder. IFA is to DKW what ??? is to Gläser.
Another guess
Baur from Stuttgart?

No, you didn't get my hint yet.
Karosseriewerk Dresden
Yes, now we've got all the bits together: it is an IFA F8 "Luxus-Cabriolet in Sonderausführung" (special edition deluxe convertible), built from 1953 to 1955 by the VEB Karosseriewerk Dresden (formerly Gläser).
One point to you, max.
