A Fairchild Taxi proposal?
Not a taxi, but there is a Fairchild connection
An early sketch of the the Fairchild ESV safety car?
I guess at that time, Fairchild was not yet named. Let's call it the "New York State Safety Car project", which later led to the Fairchild Experimental Safety Vehicle. Conceived by George Hildebrand, an aerospace engineer who worked at Republic Aircraft on Long Island, and Edward Speno, a New York Senator who was also the son of a designer.
Yes, it led to the Fairchild Hiller New York State Safety Car, but was connected to another company's name. Locked for you.
If it's not Republic (the other half of Fairchild-Republic), I don't know, so it can be unlocked.
Yes, I have it as the Republic Aviation Safety Sedan. Tell me the year and I'll give you the point.
The drawing is from 1965
Yes, another point for you.
The resulting car was featured here before: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=4350.0
Thank you.
A well known automotive magazine in the US did a feature on this project recently. I was going to use one for a puzzle. ;)
I'll scan some pics and add them shortly.
