Waiting for the start.
For one point, please respond and identify the car in the front, the year it was built and the engine it used.
For an extra point, please identify the car in the back to the left (#152) and prove it as I don't know.

Veritas?
No
The main subject looks BMW-derived, is it an EMW from about 1949?
And iIs the one behind Petermax Muller's Pertrix-VW? (I can't confirm it - it resembles the car in several photos in the Von Hanstein biography.)
You seem to be right about the Pertrix-VW. I have the Hanstein biography myself and it looks like it is the same car. Seems I should have looked in that book!
One point for you.
The main puzzle car isn't an EMW though.
Next guess - Neumaier Spezial - BMW
No
Is it perhaps the Holbein?
No
Based on Volkswagen?
Yes
It can't simply be VW-Eigenbau so is it a Glöckler?
Not just an Eigenbau, it is named after its constructor / driver. It is not a Glöckler.
up again
Gottfried Vollmer's V Spezial (VW-based)?
Not that one
Jurgen Hennig's Hennig-VW?
Neither
Kurt Kuhnke's VLK-VW?
:shakehead:
Is the year in the 1940s or in the 1950s?
In the 1950s
#148 is Kranke-BMW by Hans-Joachim Kranke built, AFAIK, for Siegfried Seifert in 1955. Seems like Seifert at the wheel.
Yes, it is the fourth racecar of Hans-Joachim Kranke, driven by a BMW R75 motorcycle engine. Siegfried Seifert took over the car after Kranke quit racing. Well done, another point for our racing prof.
Thanks! So, he has built it for himself first and Seifert has taken over it later?
The #152 is very familiar, must be VW Eigenbau, but can't remember by whom...
D-Type has identified #152 as the Pertrix-VW already.
Kranke started building his own racecars in 1950 using VW Kübelwagen chassis and engines. But in 1951 the rules didn't permit the 1131 cc VW engine any longer in the 1100 class, so he changed to the BMW engine. "Fahrzeug 4 was built for the 1953 season after which Kranke resigned from racing.
Thanks! I thought it was built in 1955 - my source was in German, which I don't know.
As for Petrix, looks like that indeed, should have checked earlier replies.
Here´s a 1951 car from Kranke. It might be the same?

According to Melenk's book it should be another, because Kranke's Fahrzeug 4 was built for the 1953 season. In 1951 he was racing Fahrzeug 2 of which there's no picture in his book, unfortunately.
So this is #2, thank you!
