No idea who was responsible for this.

For one point, please respond and identify the base car. Additional information is welcome.

This is a STEYR Sonderkarosserie Sport - Cabriolet from 1957

Seems closer to a 1937 Steyr 220.  I found two images of the puzzle car in an ebay auction.  Not much more out there.

Hmmm, what to do now? It is a modified 1937 Steyr Cabriolet, could be a 220 or a 120 Super. Facel got the important bits of information, but the wrong year. sixtee5cuda added the correct year and a possible type. I feel generous today and award one point each.

Here's a picture of an unmodified Steyr 120 Super Cabriolet:

Thank you for the point.

Check out the size of that lower door hinge.  Looks huge.  And it looks this way on many online images of 1930's Steyrs.

Too bad we can't see another picture.  Was the ebay auction, the source of the original image?

Wendax

Yes, I had the same source. Here are both pictures:

Thank you for the point.
I had the same source (Ebay). I wrote the seller the name of the designer but he didn't know.

I have had it as the Supersteyr 120 from 1936:
