No, not Bielefeld, moving off target again. You're 80 km away now.

woodinsight

Westfalia in Wiedenbruck?

Wendax

No, still 50 km away  ;D

woodinsight

Perhaps the location is in the Coesfeld/Dulmen/Ludinghausen area?

Yes, it is a Mercedes-Benz bus (probably an O 3500) bodied by Esselmann.

One point for you, pguillem.
Bad luck, woodinsight, but thanks for driving this puzzle forward so much.

There is another bus on Esselmann site.  Could it be a M.A.N MKN ?

Wendax

There surely is a similarity, but all MAN MKN I know pictures of do have Trilex wheels. And that applies to most big German buses of the early 50s. Perhaps it is a Borgward or a Magirus-Deutz?

Not a problem - I enjoyed the German geographical lesson and learning of some new German coachbuilders. (I didn't know about Esselmann so I wouldn't have guessed it anyway)
