Soon after the presentation of the Mini-Cat AZ49 in 1979, the company that should produce it was purchased by the sailboats builder Jeanneau who decide to build small cars with the name MICROCAR, It looks that one of the first prototypes of this brand was just an AZ49 with the new oval logo of MICROCAR. That happened early in 1980.
