Datsun 2000 roadster based neo classic. Google(USA) cannot find the car. Perhaps google search engine, outside the USA could locate it.

What do you're talking about? ^-^
-
Yes, Datsun 2000 based. I can't follow you about your Google problems.
-
I think what ValkyrieGT might be saying is that google.de or google.fr or any of the other country-oriented "googles" might give a different result that what we'd get in the US. I tried the Japanese version and it will search based on English text, but the results are kinda interesting, especially if ya don't read that language. :)

1976 Basilic roadster. Designed by Masao Watanabe, based on a Datsun 2000 Fairlady.
-
Yes, it is the Watanabe Basilic. One point for you.
-
Is it not called Basilic Roadster?

Heading changed

Exactly!
Google gives differing results according to which country you're in as well as according to the language you use.
If you're looking for a French car then Googling in the French language will get you many more results than Googling in English.
But even though still using English (well, sort of..) in America you'll get different results from Googling in English in the UK.

What's this meant to be and what is it based on - for 1 point?:

Watanabe Basilic. Based on Nissan Fairlady.

I knew it looked familiar: https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2012-41/solved-wendax-686-basilic-roadster-by-masao-watanabe/

Damn, I missed that it was a repost, sorry.
However, there is still one question to answer for the point (what is it meant to be?) so it's locked for oko to look into it.
-
I don't know what you're looking for. It's not meant to be anything else than a Basilic by Carrozzeria Watanabe. It's just a retro styled roadster based on a "modern" car, it's not inspired by any specific vintage model.
A source describes it as "Nissan Fairlady Virgirk Watanabe special racing vehicle", is it what you expect ?
Another source says "the strange open car is "BASILIC" made by Carrozzeria "Watanabe" who can be said to be the first Carrozzeria in Japan".
-
Well, according to my source it's meant to be a "replica" of something.
I don't know where he got his facts from so maybe he's just guessing, but I'm away from home at the moment so can't check.
I'll have a look at it again when I get home tomorrow and see if I can confirm whether he's right or not.
-
I've looked at the translation and the person who wrote the caption reckons it's meant to be a replica of a replica so to speak!
But I'm not sure Mr Watanabe meant it to be or even agrees with that; it could just be the caption writer's personal opinion. Personally I don't see that it's any more than a bit similar,
So I'll merge this and give a point to oko94.
