A little beauty of a van.
For one point, please respond and identify this car and its coachbuilder.
up
Russian GAZ?
Neither Russian nor GAZ
I'd say a Lancia Ardea.
The body conversion is perhaps by Carrozzeria Franco?
Yes, it is a Lancia Ardea, but from a different coachbuilder.
Let's start from the most obvious, so.
Fissore?
No, less known
Monticone?
No
Albanesi?
No
another coachbuilder that made this conversion was Riva
Not Riva
Introzzi?
No
What a handsome little thing! Looks as if it may be pillarless and capable of carrying 6 or more passengers. If so, it has Ford beaten to the pillarless people-carrier design (new Ford B-Max, Fiesta-based) by many, many years. ;D
Viotti?
No, less known
Colli?
No, less known
Montescani?
No
is the coachbuilder from northwest Italy?
From Northern Italy
:-\
A little hint: A son of this town had the worst time of his life in Germany a long time ago. The town was also home of three families of world famous craftsmen whose works are regarded (and valued) in their field as high as a Bugatti or Ferrari in the automotive world.

More than a hint, this is another puzzle into the puzzle... :D
Pietroboni form Bassano (but we have to find the people, then...)?
Not from the Veneto
Let's exclude a wide part of the choice: from Turin?
No, not from Piemonte
Let's exclude another part of the choice: Lombardia?

Sorry, you can't exclude that one, because it is from Lombardia.
But neither Riva not Introzzi... ??? Perhaps Boneschi?
Wendax says that is a less known coachbuilder

The son of Cremona having the worst time of his life in Germany was Publius Quinctilius Varus. He lost three Roman legions and his own life when attacked by Germanic leader Arminius in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD.
The three worldwide known families were Amati, Guarneri and Stradivari, crafter of string instruments.
Stefano is the coachbuilder and Cremona is the city, is it? Or is he called Stefano Cremona and based somewhere else?
Stefano is more often a name than a surname, while Cremona is a common Italian surname... ???
All I have is the description
Quote
Lancia-Carrozzeria Stefano/Cremona
which makes me think of a company named Stefano in the city of Cremona.
It it is written with the slash, I agree with you.
Riva di merate

Another Lancia creation of this coachbuilder:
Very interesting!
Have you any further info on this almost unknown coachbuilder? Is there any caption on the back of the photo, with perhaps an address?
Sorry, no
What a wondefully neat and well-proportioned little thing 8). Pity about the flip-up side-glasses, gives the car a hearse-like look.
