Trying to find a puzzle that lasts more than a few minutes...

What's this car and from when does it date - for 1 point?:

Yes!  The were mostly a bit left of centre!

Actually I don't know who designed it, just that it's an experimental Espenlaub streamliner from around 1952, so as it's Christmas I'll give you the point and call it solved..

And here's the unmodified picture. 
I checked the site just to make sure it didn't say anything about Jaray but it didn't; I'm not sure he was still designing after WW2?

Can't imagine why my search simply for "Espenlaub" didn't produce this result..
I wondered where on earth kwgibbs got the 2/20 record bit and Paul Jaray's name from..
It's not really quite right to simply use an earlier identical puzzle for the answer - you should have pointed out that it was a re-post.  Anyway, perhaps you weren't to realise that so the Solving stands.
