For a point: What was it originally and who's responsible for the conversion of the rear?
Do Experts know more about this car than Rookies?
Dkw based?
No DKW connection.
BORGWARD?
Jensen?
Peerless?
Rear lights seems to be Alfa Romeo Giulietta's ones...is there a connection?
No Borgward, Jensen, Peerless or Alfa Romeo connection.
And I don't think these are Giulietta rear lights.
Italian?
The lights of rear plate are for sure those of Fiat 1100/103 D-H-(1957-1965), so I think Italy is a good gamble.
Fiat 1400 ?
It's indeed Italian, it is even based on a Fiat 1100 (although I do not know which generation and version).
But there is still information (that I know) about the original car missing.
Also the person responsible for the modification of the rear is still missing.
According to the information I have, the conversion must have been made in the second half of 1956 or the first half of 1957.
Steering wheels is a Nardi. 1100 Nardi?
Fiat 1100 Tv Boano - Giannini?
I have no idea if the steering wheel is from Nardi.
This car has nothing to do with Nardi, Boano or Giannini.
Is it a one-off?
I think that the original car was not a one-off (I think a small series was made, but most probably, none of them was identical.)
The conversion of the rear is a one-off job.
Original body by Zagato?

Original body by Zagato?
Yes. The 'most probably, none of them was identical' part of my response gave that away :)

Now for the second part of the puzzle...
Is another coachbuilder?
No, but later on the guy worked (and still works) at least for 2 different coachbuilders.
But as far as my knowledge reaches, these carrozzieri were more 'carbody repair shops' than carrozzeria in its meaning we mostly use here at Autopuzzles
Fantuzzi?
A tad more obscure than Fantuzzi, but one of the guys other creations is already featured on Autopuzzles...
Do you know if it's based on 1100E or 1100/103 TV?
All I know is that it was originally a Fiat 1100 Mille Miglia by Zagato
Any young Giugiaro connection?
No, much more obscure.
It looks like Professional-knowledge is needed to solve this one.
To bring this one back to the forefront, the car before its conversion:
Giovanni Giordanengo?
Not the name I have for it.
Pietro Gianni?
No.
Gastone Crepaldi?
Not him.
Aldo Faccioli?
Also not him.
Last hint before I send this one to the black hole:
At least one other creation of this man already appeared on Autopuzzles (although his name doesn't...or at least it doesn't show up when using the search tool)
Roberto Chiappini ?
The other creation is the Fiat 850 Lampra ?
Correct.
Fiat 1100 Mille Miglia by Zagato modified by Roberto Chiappini.

You have a car's front view?
Unfortunately not, I can only post the unaltered rear view:

It looks like a reversed version of picture in reply #29... ;)
Well actually, the photo Thorax posted is the original one. I mirrored it so that it was impossible to find it with GIS. Because it could not generate any confusion ( e.g. LHD/RHD) I thought it was OK to do so.
