Hello!
Let's try to uncover this very interesting mystery car. What is its full name? Correct answer is worth a point.
Good luck!

Guess anyone?
I'll give it a try. Is it a manufacturer's or coachbuilder's concept car being unveiled?

Not exactly a concept car. Better to say, study or prototype.
"Manufacturer" or "coachbuilder" in this case doesn't well apply either.
A quite known name?
School/University project?

A quite known name?
I've managed to find one solved puzzle of a car made by this company.
Eastern European?
Not European.
The white with blue stripe would traditionally indicate a car from the USA. Is this the case here?

Not, it is not from the USA and that blue tripe is just a light effect.
Well, what about location?
The lights remind me of the Petersen museum in Los Angeles.

One of the design companies which participated in this project also made (makes?) a little microcar.
Was this microcar only car made by this company?
Is the engine mounted in front of the driver?

I'm quite sure it is mid-engined, but I don't have exact specs.
The car has the look of the 1968 Daihatsu P-5 about it. It's not a P-5-inspired 'replica' by Mitsuoka is it?

It is a classic sports coupe project and it is not by Mitsuoka or Daihatsu. No relation to P-5 as well.
Is there any info on this car available on the internet (in english?)

Thanks for the question!
It is not. It is intended as a concept model.
How many companies are involved?
So the car is from Japan - I assume both companies are from Japan. One of the companies which participated in this project also made/makes a little microcar. Let's focus on the second company.
Is it engine producer?

Both of them are from Japan. The first one is design & engineering company (quite known one) and the second one is almost unknown design company.
is Vemac involved in this?

No Vemac, no Tokyo R&D.
...
Those dimension suggest it is based on a Lotus Elise.
I am just trying to find a relatively well-known Japanese R&D company, which used to make (maybe produces even today) a microcar

I do not know the base. Most probably it is not based on anything or it is not specified.

I'm having a hard time believing there are no Elise parts. 8)
I can definitely see some Elise parts, in this interior shot:

Internet.. ;D
I found little photos and little info, maybe you know more?
I will check what I have soon.
suddenly???? I am sure that he, just like, er, me spent hours trying to find this nice car
I'm with Pal here.
Strange that he (Arunas) insisted that this car shouldn't be forgotten, but once someone comes up with the right answer he is a little disappointed about it.
I know that feeling all too well, but after all it was only a matter of time.
In that particular case though I was a little surprised, too since searching Japanese pages is not that easy...
