What is this car? Who built it? What powers it? An additional point if you can tell me what the original power plant was.

Tojeiro on a Cooper?

Tojeiro is correct. Cooper is not.

Locked for you for the second half of the puzzle...

Tall power plant. Bristol?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Is it one of the cars which were fitted with the Turner engine?

It is, in fact, a Bristol powerplant.

This is one of the original Turner powered cars.

We have determined the car is by Tojeiro. Can we get the correct name for the car?

The records all show it entered either as a Tojeiro or as a Turner. It must have belonged to either Chris Threlfall or Jim Fiander. Chris drove a car/cars fitted with Turner, Lea Francis, Bristol and Climax engines at various times - I've no idea if it was all the same car.

We've determined the car is a Tojeiro. Like a Ford, it has other names to distinguish it from other models by the same maker. This car is identified as what?

I'm not going to get too picky here. Since it was originally powered by a Turner engine, Bristol isn't part of the name. It is called the Tojeiro Sports Racer. There were 3 built. 2 had Turner engines and one had a Bristol engine. From the documentation that is with the car, the original Bristol powered car is now powered by an Aston Martin engine and the 2 Turner powered cars now are Bristol powered.

A point for frederick59.

I'd have to check the documentation but yes, I believe this is TAD 2/55

Don't forget to amend the Heading in your Post #1 to include the solution Avalanche!
Otherwise it won't show up on Search and will get reposted pretty soon...

Oops...done now. And a point to nicanary as well for identifying the original powerplant.

Thanks. As far as I know John Tojeiro didn't apply model names to his cars, although of course they had chassis numbers. All cars in that class of racing were "sports racers", from  whatever manufacturer.
