Barrett's #260 probably solved: Devin SS raced by Dan Shaw

This one is a bit difficult to pin down but I think the track is in Canada in the late 1950s - Harewood Acres? and I thought at first the car may be an Elva Mk 1 but studying it more I believe it is a Devin SS with a Corvette or Triumph engine. The following car is Edward Leavens' Corvette.

Well done, that is Ed Leavens' Corvette behind. I was under the impression the photo was from 1961 but it's possible it is a little earlier. I don't think the car is anything as famous as an Elva, and it doesn't seem quite right for a Devin.

It could be 1961 - based on Ed Leavens racing career that scanned the years 1957-1961.
Unfortunately I can't tie up No. 77 with a definitive driver/car combination at the moment and Devin is really my own guess.

Maybe, but I don't know! It doesn't look quite right for a Devin to me, but maybe it's just the picture. Do you have any proof?

(Waking up an old puzzle from the dead)

The driver of this car is Dan (Danny/Don) Shaw.

It was raced at Harewood Acres in August 1957 as #77 (Triumph Special).

In 1959, it was raced at Harewood Acres as #12 (Devin Special).

In 1959, it was raced at LASC Green Acres as #140 (Triumph TR3).

It is a 1957 Devin SS, based on a Triumph TR3.

(Not sure about the following)

Possibly built with the help of Bill Devin for James Gary.  Car was named the "Gary Special", and driven by Dan McQuilcken Kelly for Gary Racing until 06/1957.

At one point, the car was powered by a Buick 215 V8.

In its current, restored state, the car looks like just another Devin SS.
