For one point, what is the name of this car, who built it, and what is the engine ?

That's Leslie Brooke driving his Brooke Special in its post-war evolution by which time it had an ERA engine and normally ran without a body
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

Quite so. I thought this would take some time to solve PROVIDED nobody from a certain other forum wasn't looking. The car ran first of all with an MG Magnette engine in a Riley chassis, then with Riley engines, then an Alta engine, and finally the ERA engine. I believe it was at its best in sprints and hillclimbs. This is what it looked like in its final incarnation , with rather attractive bodywork.

Sorry to leap in that quickly, but I've been up here in the pro. desert for too long to be polite about hanging back!

Yes, waiting for something you can solve gets frustrating. I promoted 5 puzzles today, and 3 have been solved already. They're all too quick !
