Isotta-Fraschini 8A, hunting car?

João

Quotehunting car?

RayTheRat

A car that could  be used watch the "Derby" or or the races at Brooklands ???

wouldn't be the salt flats...their grass is a dead (unintended and  bad pun) rat.

D-type

I don't think Brooklands allowed dogs

Belonged to someone in the 'horsey' crowd?  Mrs Mirabel Topham
Duncan Rollo

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

That would probably place the photo at Aintree around 1934.  Just a wild guess based on some quick web searching.

Those artillery wheels say "USA" to me.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

You're right Ray! Not only races but expositions and horse events.

Sure!

The setting does not look like horse-racing to me - the rough grass for the car park and the marquee in the background look too temporary. I reckon it could be a polo match. USA east coast ?

Bill Murray

Not really an answer, but is that the Steeplechase at Saratoga Springs, NY in 1930?
They did allow automobiles in the infield apparently.

João

It's not Bill, sorry.

Pros?

ropat53

Is this the Valentino Isotta Fraschini Town Brougham by Fleetwood, modified to watch polo?

João

I don't think it's the same car. I only have the name of its owner from NY.

Ms Charles Oractor with his dog

João

Correct! This car started life in a different shape for sure, maybe with coachwork by Castagna.
