I know that Porsche made 3 prototypes in 1941 (VW877) with raised body and maybe 4x4. Is this one of them ?

No, this is a private one-off conversion.

Now, that's a special one. It was built by Wendler for the Gminder company from Reutlingen. A15 cm high wooden frame was placed between chassis and body to increase the headroom, the front seats were replaced by a tractor swing seat, the rear bench was replaced by a wooden one, the car was converted to central steering and the engine output was increased to 60 hp. The reason for this conversion is not known anymore.

Yes, it can be seen as a kind of predecessor of the Golf II Country... :D
