Who knows this car?
One extra point for anybody who is able to tell me which cool gimmick this car has featured.

Well observed - and it is RHD, too...
Datsun Sunny Sedan?
Yes, this prototype was derived from a Sunny - but it has a specific name.
And do not forget about the gimmick...
B210??
That´s just the internal Datsun/Nissan code for the Sunny base car.
is this a rotary engine prototype?
No.
Did it talk to the driver (like an Allegro)?
This is the Nissan GR-2 Concept vehicle from 1977.
Indeed!
Do you know about the special gimmick?
That would be another potential point...

"Instead of padded bumpers, the GR-1 utilized a "soft" nose cone."
Not this one - soft noses have been used quite often since the end of the 1960´s.
I´m thinking of a different feature.
Well, here's a crummy picture of the GR-2.
There was a Nissan GR-1 concept displayed during 1975, and that vehicle had significantly different styling. It's interesting to note the reversal of body design between the two cars. The 1977 GR-2 had front end styling that was much closer to the 1974-1976 Sunny/B210/Y130.
Yes, the GR-1 was far more inventive in its styling.
I completly agree that the GR-2 was a step back...
Was there an on-board computer?
Transmission temperature sensor?
As it was a safety car type concept, I am thinking radar assisted braking.
Had it an air-bag?
No no no and no.
Back up camera?
Well, I´ll help massively:
in-car telephone?
CB Radio?
I will go with a Dictaphone to record any things you needed to remember whilst driving.
Nice ideas , but no no and no...
Hows about an intercom/loudspeaker to communicate with people outside of the car without having to roll the window down?
Another good idea, but no... ;)
hair dryer ? :)
Security feature?
Electric shaver ;D
Voice activated controls
Karaoke machine
