That's it, the Toyota MR2-based SARD MC-8R from 1989.
Sorry it's a re-post (I searched for 'Toyota SARD' but of course it did not show up because 'Toyota' didn't figure in the original puzzle's title..)
Also I asked for the date it was made, which nobody gave me, but I can hardly hold out for it now that it proves to be a repost...
