Who knows this car?

1 point only for the correct technical basis
AND the correct coachbuilder.

I have sooooo much time invested in this photo and no clear answer.

Based solely on the type of road wheel and the ventilation louvres in the side of the motor hood, can it be a prototype of a Steyr Type 50??

Well,  noone forced you to do so... ;)

But to give a hint.

It is a german car, built in south-west Germany.

Bill Murray

Well, Burkhard, I do always enjoy your puzzles and your tips are always most interesting to follow.

Southwest could indicate Stuttgart and Mercedes Benz and there is a certain resemblance to the 130H/ 150H/170H range but the ventilation louvers are at the wrong end of the car.

I will continue on..........

Then this is specially for you  ;)  :

You went slightly too far with Stuttgart.
Look for a smaller, but not too obscure manufacturer of the 1930s...

targhediferro

Ober-ramstadt is in south-West of Germany....is it a Rohr prototype?

grobmotorix

Stunning!

You´re right with Röhr.

LOCKED for you!

targhediferro

Rohr junior, about 1934. Is it from Autenrieth?

grobmotorix

It´s a Röhr Junior, indeed.

But the bodywork has not been manufactured by Autenrieth.

I found this picture on the net, but the caption doesn't mention the coachbuilder. I tried to obtain a clue from Rohr Junior history; this car was a Tatra T75 built under licence by the Neue Rohr Gmbh, and I found that F.Porsche was involved in the project. The car (as Bill said) looks like Mercedes-Benz H, so I'm convinced that the coachbuilder is neither Czech, nor Austrian. As it is quite streamlined I will guess Ludewig.

grobmotorix

No. One more guess for you and I will unlock this thread again

The front of this car has something tied with Steyr 50, and with Adler Autobahn, so I guess Ambi-Budd.

Biig hint:

but you´re very close...

The question has not been asked and Burkhard often asks some very wicked questions, so is the coachbuilder actually German???

Oh, am I that bad... :D

No, it is german and starts with a "D".

This narrows it quite a bit...

Bill Murray

Last Dance for this one.

Dörr & Schreck??

They also did some "streamline" type bodies.
And, yes, you are that bad and more ;D ;D
