As I am sure Craig has also, I have about 2 hours in this puzzle, concentrating on French coachbuilders. I also searched the common German coachbuilders.
May I now ask, is the coachbuilder from a country other than those two??

-
Yes ,Matford 1936 by Kellner !
As there were several Matford models around in 1936, one should add that it is a French-built Alsace V8-66 21 CV coupe. The picture was taken at the 1937 Concours d'Elegance at Deauville.

Perfect ! :)

My thanks also, Gerd:
Although one of my primary fields of interest is US vehicles sold outside the US, I have only lately really began to penetrate the "Country Specific" vehicles designed and manufactured by US subsidiaries or joint venture companies such as Matford.
This is an error I hope to rectify and perhaps post an article about later on on the Forum.
In the meantime, even Googling that Concours d'Elegance and visiting several French Ford Forums, I cannot come up with more information on this particular vehicle.
Without compromising your source, can you point me in a better direction to get more information on this vehicle.

As these magazines / books are widely known, I can tell you that the puzzle car is pictured in here, but without mentioning Kellner as coachbuilder:
