?? It's British, then it's partially British, then it's not a British base. The coachbuilding is very Art-Deco, and way too stylish to be British in my opinion.
So I'm confused ! Which part is British?

Just to keep this going, I was thinking the same as nicanary.

The wheels and the engine hood louvers might suggest an Amilcar.

The owner of this car is desperately trying to find more period photographs of it, particularly which show the front end. Many years of searching have only come up with this one well-known image. There is nothing in the Lancefield archive about the car. Can anyone help? Lots of points and maybe a real reward if anybody can find a front-end shot of this car in 1935....

This is not an Amilcar.

QuoteIs it the work of a coachbuilder on a production chassis

It is a one-off  bodywork on a chassis of a still known manufacturer.

Bodywork and chassis came from two different countries...

As far as I know this is the only known front view shot today  ;)
