Triumph TR3 based?

nicanary

I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

shamrock

Bill de Sellincourt modified triumph

SACO

Yes Triumph TR ; I just know the race and the driver !

nicanary

It looks like a British sports-car race from about 1957-59 - there is an Ace in the background, as well as another TR, a Healey Silverstone and what could be a Frazer Nash MM or Targa Florio. Goodwood ?

I'm not sure what you need. Do you require the type of car and the year of the event?

Triumph TR3 with modified front end - 1958 ?

I just want the race and the driver (perhaps the maker )

nicanary

Is it anything to do with the Autosport 3 -hour race ?

Sorry ,it's a repost of MJW#098
Wilen Triumph TR2 at Silverstone 1957
Merged with 098 ?

nicanary

Well, I was right it was a TR2 ! I'm sure Silverstone had stands alongside the starting grid even in 1957, unless this race was started elsewhere on the track. Odd.

It did, and it had the Dunlop Tower for its commentators which would be visible in a grid photo at the angle we have.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong
