Another hearse - understated and well-designed.
For one point name the make, model, year and coachbuilder.

Hup!

Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 1980 ,by Pilato?

Yes, it's a Rolls-Royce but not a Silver Shadow and not by Pilato.
The year 1980 is correct though....

By Dario Casale, and since it's probably the LWB base, it's a Silver Wraith II.
-
The very car of the puzzle is currently for sale in Italy with the description I mentioned. I am more than prepared to be proved wrong, but I would like some evidence-
-
If it's any help, my information came from an almost identical design in a different colour on the site rrsilvershadow.com.

The conversion might have been done in 1980, but I suspect the car itself is older.
It sports the earlier version of chrome bumpers as from 1977 the Shadow/Wraight got bigger rubber & chrome bumpers.
Also the wheelcovers are non-vented, which were available until march 1971.

Actually I had my eye on that car before, but the roof line is different from the one in the puzzle.

Yes it's by Dario Casale but according to my source not a Silver Wraith II......

I'll LOCK it for you for another guess as to the model......
-
The front section is definitely Shadow/Wraith II, so the only other option is that it is built on a Corniche base.

I have to admit that I filed this one as a Silver Cloud which is plainly wrong.... :bag:
On checking my source again, it should be a Silver Shadow.
So, the fairest way is to award a point to Hiawatha (who originally guessed Silver Shadow) and another point to nicanary (who guessed Casale as the coachbuilder) and to thank ecurie for his additional information.
I hope this is satisfactory.....

Fine for me, but it means the people selling the car have their information wrong, which is, of course possible.

It could also be my source (a book on Corbillards) that's wrong...... :-\
Anyway, I'm treating it as solved now unless someone comes up with more proof......

Thanks for the fair allocation - always a problem, this internet thing. Sometimes things aren't as they seem!
