Interestingly, the car is LHD, and you'ld think that low-volume manufacturers would not have made a chassis in that format. How about a build-it-yourself car? Buckler?
Not a Buckler......

That was a typical "canaryism" - Buckler were amongst the pioneers in spaceframe manufacture, and the pictured car has a chassis member made from a Bailey Bridge. Doh !

We're all assuming it's a 50s car because that's when the USA took to the British sports car and they were made in quantity in LHD. Is it by chance a rebodied pre-war car?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Turner?
Yes, that's it.
The only other information I have on it is the engine size (in cc).

LOCKED for you to fill in the missing piece.

Any further information on who bodied it and when may gain an extra point.

Well, thank you, it was rather unexpected.. Quite a few Turners went to USA and Road & Track road tested one. First impression from the picture suggested a much bigger car.

This has interested me - I hadn't realised that Turners were made in LHD but a bit of investigation reveals that about 250 950 models were built, and a large proportion went to the States, so it would have been worth the minor engineering to convert the cars.

I have found the source of the puzzle photo - the details were supplied to the Turner Registry by one Russ Filby. It was advertised on E-bay in 2007 as a car from 1959 which had been crashed in California in the 60s. The new owner from Arizona bought the remains 40 years ago, and began a rebuild. All that was kept was the chassis and steering wheel. Present situation and whereabouts are unknown.

Big car for a BMC A-Series engine. (No points expected)
