Identify the constructor (the driver), base car, engine make and year to gain one point.
Experts?
I'm pretty sure of the base car/engine. There were literally hundreds of these about at the time, so it's all down to the driver/builder.
Is he renowned? Did he go on to bigger things?

No, the builder was not particularly well known as far as I know and I believe this was the only car he built.

I agree with all that - and I'm sure I recognise the driver but can't remember who he is/was.
Seems to be racing at Silverstone in the mid-1950s.

The photo was taken at Silverstone on 14 August 1954.
Base car was space framed and is a well-known make in racing circles......

Yes it's a Buckler frame and the engine was of course a Ford 1172 sv.
However it's not Derek Buckler at the wheel.
The man who built it was based in Wales and his surname was 9 letters in length.......
Montgomery spl
J.E.Pritchard has a suitably Welsh ring to his name - perhaps it's him?

Yes. I was working on things like Jones the Wheel, or Dai the Weld. I must admit they didn't seem likely outside of Ivor the Engine.

H.Porteous had a Buckler Mk V, registered HDM 855, which he called the Porteous Special, so I'll try him.
