What is this sports racer with extra-high front wings?
What was it named and the year will be sufficient for the point.
Mallock?
Good guess but it's not a Mallock (or U2)....
Experts turn now
Lotus base?
Yimkin?
Good guesses but it's neither a Lotus or a Yimkin
Perhaps a Pro knows?

Alexis?
Here's another view to help you in your deliberations -
Pilbeam?
Mallock/U2
Lotus
Yimkin
Ladybird
Alexis
Pilbeam
By way of a clue, this car's model name was more appropriate for a lady than a car!
Is this one of the "Bloody Mary" specials?

I like your way of thinking Ray but it's not one of those...
Lola?

Lola?
No but perhaps something that Lola would desire... ;)
Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets. Perhaps she wants a Lotus Mk VI?

Nice answer Ray but Lola didn't want or end up with a Lotus Mk VI!

ELLOVA , built by Sid Marler ?
Not that one.....
The name of this car is two words - eight letters and four letters.
I should add that the constructor of this car also built a rear-engined racing coupe that was prominently featured on AutoPuzzles not so long ago.
Time to resurrect some of puzzles that are gathering dust in the depths of the Pros......
This particular make has appeared on AP as one of their GT coupes before but I think this may be their first car.
A clue then - "it's freezing, therefore it's time the lady had one of these" (8 letters and 4 letters)
Bearskin coat ? ;D

Not that I'm afraid......
I'll provide another clue soon
A lady desires..... keeps her from freezing...

Is the 4-letter word "Mink"?
Yes it is!
LOCKED for you to have a guess at the first word....
OK, I'll have a guess.
American Mink?

American Mink?
No, not that......
Clue - the first four letters refer to the temperature and the next four to an exclamation - join them together and you have the make of the car!
Still locked for you for one more try.
Thanks!
I can't find a picture of it on the 'Net, but following your clues: Coldwell?

I can't find a picture of it on the 'Net, but following your clues: Coldwell?
That's it.....well solved!
Another point for you.
Twas a Clubmans Formula car built by Bill Needham. He was pretty inventive, and came up with all sorts of one-offs, but I hadn't realised until I was looking up details that he built a twin-cam head for the BMC A-Series engine. Kudos.
Name Coldwell came from the location of this small engineering firm: Coldwell Lane,Sheffield
Coldwell also built a GT coupe and a Group 6 sports racer that have also been featured here on AP.
