That's the basis, yes, but not the complete answer!

This car has actually been puzzled here before, but more information seems to have come to light so I'm looking for its special name.
The threads will have to be merged sooner or later but let's see what the Rookies can come up with first..

Not a lot it seems.
I'll give the Experts one shot at solving this and if they don't get it quickly it will be merged with the original and given its 'new' name.

That's right.
This car was auction by RM Auctions at Amelia Island, where it was described as the 1961 Austin-Healey Nassau Sprite.  That seems to have been a name it gained later in life but is due its win in the Nassau Governors Cup race in the Bahamas.

It's actually the same car that I've puzzled before, so it will be merged now.

A period shot of the car at the 1961 Sebring 12-hours, driven by Ed Leavans and John Colgate, where it finished 25th overall and 3rd in class. Works Sprites were often fitted with non-standard bodywork at that time, since they usually had to compete in the prototype class because they were powered by what amounted to Formula Junior-spec engines.

I liked it better how it appeared originally with the modified Frogeye Sprite grille and wire wheels, it looks more pure to its roots that way. 8)
