Oh, wow, a very special kind of friction drive indeed...

Indeed! 2 propshafts! I don't know for sure but I imagine the crownwheel had teeth on either side. It looks as if it had 7 'gears' for forward and reverse.

I found few news about a car, built in Berlin-Wilmersdorf by Ing.Bischoff & M.Althoven, that's described as a cyclecar with Steudel engine and a "strange friction trasmission"; it was named Hagea-Moto, about 1922.
Is perhaps our car?

No, it's not our car. It is French.

The designer and builder of this car was also involved in the design of at least one aircraft.

Is it perhaps the Kiddy, 1921, built by Atelier Lecourbe, Paris?

neilshouse

It's neither a Kiddy or Cateret.

Craig Gillingham

Was this a production car, or a one of?

At least one was made, we have a photo. The photo comes from a brochure so a production run was envisaged but I have yet to find evidence of any others.

The designer/builder/owner is pictured at the wheel.

Was it Bleriot Aeronautique?,by the way ,are those the headlights by the windsheild?

neilshouse

Not Bleriot.

I have no idea what the two protuberances are on the scuttle.

Wild guess: Talbot-Darracq?

neilshouse

Not Talbot-Darracq, sorry.

This is "La Gazelle", built in 1912 by Monsieur Octave Poignard from Brinon-sur-Sauldre.

He also built a biplane:

Fantastic Wendax! It is indeed 'La Gazelle' built by Octave Poignard.
I wonder if production exceeded one unit?
