1951 Delahaye 234 by Letourner et Marchand.

(The similarity to the Antem creation is amazing - I'm surprised there wasn't a court case)

it's clearly a tiping mistake....it's a 235 not 234; but the year is 1952 in my opinion.

Yes, it was a typing mistake, I was in a hurry because in the Experts section you have to be quick. I keep a list of all the Rookies questions I can answer and check every day to see if they've been moved. I have re-checked my source which has the same pic as the puzzle, and it does not give a date, and nor do any other internet references to this car.

However, I agree with you that 1952 is more likely. The prototype 235 did not show until 1951, and most of the coachbuilt cars were shown in '52. I don't know why I claimed '51, I have no proof whatsoever. So I'm happy to say I was wrong.

Yes, that's the car!
It is, as you say, almost identical to the Antem car with just minor differences in the window shapes.  But that doesn't seem to be unusual with these Delahayes and I wonder if the coachbuilders were given a 'standard' design and asked to make the body, just with some minor changes to differentiate them from the work of other coachbuilders.

I don't have the date either, but I thought the solver might be able to come up with it.. Certainly it is 1951 or 52 so let's call it 1952!

The Letourneur et Marchand car was built in late 1951.

Here's a few more views -

1. The original sketch by Philippe Charbonneaux

2. The first car (chassis no. 818001) as it appeared at the Salon de Paris 1951

3. The same car after it had been readied for commercialisation

4. Philippe Charbonneaux with his own car (chassis no. 818002)
